Quick answers for the most common questions pet owners ask

  • We service areas within 30km of our base. If you are outside this zone, we cannot take the appointment. Please check your distance before submitting the form.

  • No. If your pet is in severe distress, collapsing, bleeding heavily, or struggling to breathe, go straight to a 24/7 animal emergency hospital.
    We are not an emergency service and these cases cannot be managed during a home visit.

  • We help with medical issues that can be managed at home, such as skin problems, ear infections, vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, sneezing, chronic conditions, behaviour issues, urinary issues, minor injuries, simple wound management and light sedated procedures.

    We also do vaccinations, general health check, senior health checks and preventative health consultations.

  • We do NOT handle life-threatening emergencies, surgery cases, procedures requiring heavy sedation or general anaesthesia. We do not offer certain diagnostics requiring heavy equipment such as x-rays, ultrasounds, CT, MRI.

  • A standard consultation is $100. Medications and diagnostics (if required) are additional.

    A travel fee applies based on your location - Please ask during the initial call to avoid surprises.

  • No. Our fees are the same 7 days a week.

    Only your standard consult fee + travel fee + medications/tests if required

  • Most appointments run 30–45 minutes, which is significantly longer than the typical 10–15 minute clinic consult.
    If the consultation goes beyond 60 minutes, an extended consult fee of $165 applies.

  • We do not offer payment plans.
    We accept Afterpay, but the Afterpay merchant fee is added to your invoice.
    Payment must be completed at the end of the visit.

  • No. We only write prescriptions for existing patients we have examined.
    Prescription fees apply depending on duration. You must book a consultation first.

  • If your pet needs x-rays, ultrasound, generalised anaesthesia, surgery, or specialised care, we will refer you immediately to the appropriate clinic or specialist centre. We never waste your time or money on cases we cannot solve. We will never delay referrals to retain revenue. We will point you in the right direction of the next logical step.

  • Yes. We personally check in within 48 hours to ensure your pet is improving. We want you to have reassurance and peace of mind that your pet is truly on track.

  • You're welcome to contact us and speak to a vet directly (no vet nurses or receptionists answering the phone here). We provide phone guidance where possible so you know what to do while waiting for your visit.

  • Although home visits are ideal for anxious & reactive pets, we understand that some pets are still very nervous about having visitors come into their home. We always approach slowly and take our time to know your pet. We practice fear-free handling to increase the chances of your pet staying calm.

    If all else fails, we will discuss a management plan to ensure the next visit is less stressful for your pet. This management plan may involve training, behaviour modification and medications. In order for it to succeed, we need your help too.

  • No. We only take cases where we can provide real, meaningful value.

    If your pet's issue cannot be cannot be addressed during a home visit, we will not waste your time.
